Head Teaching Consultant

2023 - 2024

Head Teaching Consultants (Head TCs) work closely with Sheridan Staff and the Teaching Consultant program to provide peer leadership, facilitate Sheridan Teaching Seminar workshops, co-organize the TC invited-speaker series, and support the pedagogical development of graduate students at Brown. Facilitated regular graduate Teaching Consultant meetings, as well as make-up Reflective Teaching workshops.

Teaching Consultant

Fall 2021 - Fall 2022

The Teaching Consultant Program is a semester-long learning community for graduate students and postdocs, where participants deepen their knowledge of evidence-based, inclusive teaching practices and develop skills in peer-workshop facilitation, online teaching, and providing feedback on teaching. Consultants facilitate workshops for the Sheridan Teaching Seminar, meet regularly as a community of, and write and revise a teaching statement.

Reflective Teaching Seminar Participant

Fall 2019

Centered around inclusive and evidence-based teaching, the Reflective Teaching Seminar covers foundational concepts in pedagogy, including establishing inclusive environments, principles of learning design, methods of evaluating learning, methods of student engagement, and classroom communication skills. Participated in monthly discussion sections, engaged in critical reading of pedagogical theory, and developed peer-reviewed lesson plans.
